DETROIT RED WINGS 3 - 2 ANAHEIM DUCKS (OT)
Now that was incredible. #44 scores two -- a Shanahan Special and an amazing overtime roofie colada -- and I'm not around to see or chronicle it. This is becoming a trend, too. When he scores, I'm either out of the room, or I miss the game live, or I pass it off as pure witchcraft or a Robitussin-induced hallucination. From my perspective, he is no different than the Easter Bunny.
Well done, #44.

It will be another busy week before I get back to everyday posting. Barring a very cruel, cruel trick that could only be masterminded by the immortal Jeff Smoker, Michigan State is allowing me to graduate today. Hats will be tossed, shrimp will be eaten, and nipples will be hard enough to break glass.
They've made it sort of strange though, because I still have finals all of next week. Yeah you figure it out.
See you on the other side.

Congratulations, Tyler. Now don't go and do anything stupid like applying to grad school.
Bella
Grats dude. Be a smart person and apply to grad school.
Have a great day. Congrats! Couldn't be prouder of you than if you were my own kid. ;)

Way to go Tyler(!). Have fun, be safe.
Coincidence? The security word = ingbona? Hmmm.
Congratulations!!!

Congratulations. One being yet another blogger who probably is young enough to be my kid :-P
I'm actually standing in the Breslin tunnel reading this post on my phone to pass time until this damn ceremony starts. Didn't know you were graduating too Tyler. Congratulations on graduating and being in the same building as someone passing time reading your blog. Cheers and Go Green!
Congratulations, Tyler.
And only go to grad shcool if you want to - and anyone who claims that if you don't go right away, you never will - they can f*** right off, because they don't know what they are talking about.
Both my sisters and one of my brothers got graduate degrees (DVM, PhD, and MS) after working several years first.
Congratulatioins! Have a great time!
Roofie colada....Giggity.
Congrats on the graduation, man.
Congratulations, although finals is a bummer. Since you'll need a job now I recommend coming to Arizona...plus I need friends who follow hockey..
Congrats on the graduation. Make sure you pass all your finals.
Congrats. I'll be one to tell you to never ever go to those soul sucking institutions known as "school" again.
Now you get to deal with the soul sucking institution known as a "career". Dennis Leary was right. Damnit.
Pimpin' ain't easy...
...but now you can concentrate on it full time.
Congrats brosef (yea, I said it)
Thanks everyone.
RT, that's wild that you were there. Was it for you or someone you know? I don't remember hearing "Frequent Triple Deke Reader RT" over the loudspeakers so I'll assume it was your little brother, QT.
So you're done with the ceremony? Must be nice and sad at the same time. I have 1,5 yrs left to get there and cannot really imagine what it must be like.

It hasn't come close to hitting me yet. It probably won't happen until two months from now when I've made my third grilled cheese sandwich of the day and realized that I haven't showered since 2009.
I'll tell you exactly when it hits you - next fall when every other year you got ready to go to school, and this time you aren't doing that.
BAM! like a metric shit-ton of bricks.
Now good luck with your finals. To not pass them after graduation would just be foolish.
This seems like a pretty good sign: #44 rips it up for a couple of days, and the comments are filled with good wishes for ... the author!
Nice going!

yeah, I guess it's often kind of like that. But, well, congrats again man. Now nail those finals!
I was actually graduating too. Representing the fine College of NatSci. I put "Frequent Triple Deke Reader RT" on the card but the guy reading the names mispronounced it so badly that my actual name came out somehow. How the hell does that happen?
Also, Todd Bertuzzi deserves an apology from all of you.
Congrats to you too then, RT.

I finally got to see the Wings/Preds highlights just now. I don't know what's going on here but I am considering not watching another game ever again. It may be best for the team. A spin-o-rama goal? Another OT winner? Seriously?
It was hilarious watching the highlights of the last two games. In both, NHL.com was using the non-Wing announcers, and in both, the play-by-play guy called Bertuzzi somebody else on the game winner. In the Ducks game he was mistaken for Holmstrom; in the Preds game he was mistaken for Zetterberg. It's like they couldn't believe it either.
yeah, that was pretty bad by the broadcasters. I had to watch a FS Nash feed and they called him Zetterberg for at least a minute, even though the number 44 was clearly visible through the whole play
Congrats, Tyler. If you want to go to grad school then go. If you don't, then take some time off and go make money, while alternate-universe Tyler builds up more debt in school.
Baroque is right about not going right away if you want to go; in fact I recommend not going right away. My dad said the same stuff, that I would never go if I took time off. Worked awhile, in an MD/PhD program now, and I think I'm happier than if I went straight to med school.
You may not watch games again until Bertuzzi goes down for a month with a detached retina.
And Baroque is also right about it being the strangest next fall. I think Baroque is a cyborg-genius. You should be careful about allowing her to post here.
Robitussin-induced hallucination...ha! You never cease to amuse me.
And congratulations. :)
Wayyy belated, but congratulations and good luck on your finals!
Congrats on graduating...although now you're reminding me I only have one more semester left ahhhhh. Crazy.
I am most definitely not a genius - or I would have been able to actually stick with one of the couple masters programs I started. Just haven't found the right fit yet, I guess.
And I will leave my cyborg-ness to your imagination. :)
